Country Overview

Why Study in Malta?

Malta is a unique gem in the European Union — the smallest EU member state, and the only one alongside Ireland that has English as an official language. This makes it an ideal destination for Indian students who want an EU degree and EU work opportunities without any language barrier.

Learning or speaking Maltese is not required for daily life or study — English is used everywhere from classrooms and workplaces to street signs and government offices. Malta's Mediterranean lifestyle, combined with its EU membership and Schengen access, makes it an increasingly sought-after study destination.

Malta has the University of Malta (a public institution founded in 1592) and MCAST (Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology) for vocational courses, plus several private institutions offering accredited programs. The government's Endeavour Scholarships specifically support international students choosing Malta.
